He woke up thinking he was someone else. He gasped as his heart raced, his him-ness breathing back into him all at once. It didn’t quite belong anymore. The boy had gotten lost in the dream. And he got lost in the same dream several nights later. And again. And again. It lingered on his mind. He came to expect it. But when his friend accidentally called him by the wrong name, the dream finally came into being. The boy greeted the other boy. And the boy smiled.
