PitMad

Yesterday was my first go at Pitch Wars. It wasn’t the most successful #PitMad but I still learned a lot from it. I spent hours stressing over condensing 78,000 words into a single tweet and, for the first time, I was very happy with how it turned out. I didn’t get the results I would’ve hoped for, but this is still a step in the right direction.

It was simply amazing seeing just how big the writing community really is and just how much they support one another. It’s actually incredible to see other writers out there boosting each other up. And, had I not been working during the event, I would’ve been right there with them with waves of support. I do regret that I couldn’t give others the same kind of uplifting joy that so many gave me, but I plan to be ready and available during the next event to participate more.

Querying is tough. Rejections are discouraging, especially when most are form letters. But I’m far from giving up. This is going to happen. It just is. It’s only a matter of time. Until then, I’m just going to keep writing. Keep working on things I’m passionate about. I’m going to channel those self-defeating thoughts into my work, and transform them into perseverance.

It may be months, a year, or even more. But I won’t lose faith in my passion.

Also, God of War is a simply amazing story and I will never stop encouraging people to play it.
